Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

Remember my post about the movies I've been waiting for here?

Well, I was only able to watch 2 out of the 4 I mentioned. I know, such a shame, right? The first one (Immortals) was a disappointment. (You may read about it through this link). But for Mission: Impossible 4, I'm dedicating this full post!

I'm glad it came back to Philippine Cinemas after the MMFF. For those who don't know what MMFF is, it is an acronym for Metro Manila Film Festival that happens during the week of December 25 until around New year. A collection of Filipino-made movies are showcased and it is a big event for the local movie industry. Anyway, back to the topic...as I was saying, I'm glad the Ghost Protocol came back and I was able to watch it on the big screen. :)

The plot: Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates "Ghost Protocol". Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency's name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know.

Starring: Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton
Directed by: Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratatouille)

It was really a great movie! Well, not much on the story line but I loved the action scenes. All the breath-taking moments, and scenes that will make you hold on tighter to your seats. Stunts were gravity-defying and life-risking! If you've watched it, you know what I'm talking about -- Burj Khalifa? Sandstorm? And what about that cool BMW that they just wasted on a car crash. Sayang! And the fight in an automated multi-storey car park in Mumbai, India! Really amazing! It made me think na "iba talaga ang special effects ng Hollywood movies, compared to Filipino movies." I'm not belittling our talents here, but ibang level sila talaga. =P Feel free to try and change my mind! ;)

Another thing I'd realized when I watched this movie was that Jeremy Renner could play the "good guy" after all. When I heard he's playing Jason Bourne, but after this movie I thought, "ah, yeah...maybe he CAN be the lead character in a movie." I hope I won't be disappointed with the Bourne Legacy, I did love like the portrayal of Matt Damon..when will it be showing anyway? Though I'm not bothering to check it out yet since I still have a few movies in line for this month, *they're still filming here in the Philippines so I guess it will be some time before the movie will be released). ;)

About those movies to watch...well, actually I just have two -- the now showing Sherlock Holmes, which I've heard is really really good and funny, and Underworld IV coming in Cinemas this January 20th!! Yes, that's already tomorrow! :)

Anyways, if you haven't watched MI4 yet, go to the nearest cinema asap! Now na! =P It's really not about Tom Cruise being such a hunk anymore and never mind his acting...=P But I guess for me, this is the best Mission Impossible movie so far! Or probably close to the first Mission impossible. =P

Hope you're having a great week! It's almost TGIF!

Keep safe! (",)

Honestly, I've never watched any of it. Gees. I have to catch up. Mostly, I watch movies while doing chores --- washing the dishes, cooking or folding the laundry. Galing ko ng mag multi-task. hehehe
